Tom Pomeranz delivers a message of inspiration and encouragement to participants wanting to enhance their leadership skills. This session focuses on the importance of critical moments – “When something that you do or say can critically change what is about to happen.” Tom drives home the point that the leader’s response to critical moments is the primary determent as to whether others respect and value the actions of the leader. For example, trust is formed when the leader keeps a confidence, responds promptly to communications, presents a positive attitude about the organization, and responds to errors in a manner which will support solutions and completes work accurately.
The leader’s thoughtful and deliberate response to these critical moments communicates that the leader can be trusted to act in the best interest of his or her followers. A quote by Albert Schweitzer best depicts this session: “Being an example is not the main thing in influencing others. It is the only thing.”
Best seminar I have attended. Learned a lot about self and leadership style, the change in the world you want to see, understanding why people do what they do, dealing with the “underground”, positional authority versus personal power and being a leader versus a manger.
